Environmentally Friendly Greener Business -
working with Landcare Australia
Working with organisations such as Landcare, Web and Print Design is diligently working toward the goal of being a greener company. We know it's not something that can happen overnight, but by addressing the problem now and educating our customers and staff, we are taking the first step toward a cleaner future.
Our solution
One option was to purchase CO2 credits to offset our consumption, however we didn't believe that this would truly help our world recover what we have reaped from the planet.
We believe financial contributions to organisations such as Landcare would best serve the environment and so from January 2012 we will be donating $1 for every new customer signup to assist the hard working workers and volunteers of Landcare in planting more trees - the natural way to off-set our carbon emissions.
If you would like to assist further you can also donate directly to Landcare by clicking here.
Case Study
Landcare Volunteers making a difference in your community
During Landcare Week 2011, volunteers celebrated the launch of a large biodiversity conservation project with a community planting day. Over 90 volunteers from the community attended including members of the local council, catchment management authority, private landowners and Landcare Australia.
Landcare Australia developed this short YouTube clip of the volunteers getting ready to plant natives trees that will create a corridor to reconnect the landscape from the coast to the Barrington Tops National Park World Heritage Area.
About Landcare
The Landcare movement is made up of approximately 4,000 Landcare and 2,000 Coastcare volunteer groups that work on environmental projects in their local communities. The groups that fall under the Landcare umbrella are varied in nature and don’t necessarily include Landcare in their names, including Productive farming groups, ‘Friends of’, Bushcare, Coastcare, Rivercare, and Dunecare. Landcare also include farmers embracing sustainable farm management and any community group that partakes in volunteer environmental activities.
