How to free up server space on your account

Check how much server space you have left

To check your disk space, log into your Control Panel at www.yourdomain.com/menu and look at the RESOURCES AVAILABLE on the left. This will show you how many mb of server space you have used, and how much space you have left.

How to increase your server space

If you are getting close to your allocated amount of server space or if you have gone over your server space limit you will not be able to receive emails or upload further files onto the server. Therefore you need to do the following if this is the case:-

  1. Upgrade to a larger package, OR
  2. Delete OLD e-mail log files stored on the server
  3. Remove any unused files from your WWW folder
  4. Delete old website statistics logs if no longer required

1. How to upgrade your account to a larger package:

  • Log into your control panel at www.yourdomain.com/menu. You will need your username and password to enter.
  • Click on the icon called: "Upgrade CP"
  • Select the package you would like to upgrade to and follow the prompts.

2. How to delete OLD e-mail log files stored on the server (non-webmail users ONLY):

IMPORTANT:

1. If you use the webmail feature to receive emails then you should NOT remove any email log files from the server because this will remove your email message from the webmail as well.

2. Before removing old email log files please download "receive" emails using your email program just before removing the log files to ensure that you download the latest messages first.

  • Log into your control panel at www.yourdomain.com/menu. You will need your username and password to enter.
  • Click on the icon called: "File Manager", then click on "yourdomain-mail".
  • Choose the file you no longer need and click on the "Delete" link.
  • A prompt will come up saying "Delete File:filename". Click on "Confirm".

(If you are unsure whether you store your email logs on the server - click here for instructions on how to check)

3. How to remove unused files that you no longer need from your WWW folder:

  • Log into your control panel at www.yourdomain.com/menu. You will need your username and password to enter.
  • Click on icon called: "File Manager", then click on "WWW"
  • Choose the file you no longer need and click on the "Delete" link.
